Senior Architect
Telcotec requires a senior architect to be one of the key drivers into the continuous product development and life cycle of the worlds leading prepaid charging system.
The charging system in question has a multi-node architect and here at Telcotec we primarily concentrate on the Administration node.
You will join a team of 25 + people from Telcotec to work on this system. The product has been in the market for several years so there are a number of different streams [Design Maintenance, Product customisation and R&D].
Job Description:
You can expect to work on different streams and have different roles depending on priorities and project needs. However, regardless of the stream or the role, you are expected to maintain an overall understanding of the whole system at all times and have a clear understanding of how the product will develop over time.
When called upon, your design with not only cater for the technical requirements of the project but will also be aware of commercial considerations such as time to market [TTM]
Skills / Attributes:
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills as you will be required to convey your views to technical staff and senior managers with equal ease.
You will be hands-on, so you need to be as comfortable coding as you are managing a team.

Qualifications and Technical Experience:
Required
- Educated to Degree Level (or equivalent) in a computing discipline
- Strong practical knowledge of Relational Databases
- Preferably of Sybase/Oracle with an in-depth knowledge of SQL, DDL, Stored procedures, data modelling and database design.
- Multi-threaded C++ programming on Unix
- Java Development; both back-end and GUI
- Unix Scripting
- Web server technologies, configuration and deployment
- XML/SOAP/RPC/TCP-IP/HTML
Desirable
- Experience of developing telecom s/w
- Experience of working on customer care systems
- Sybase Admin
- SUN Hardware configuration
