Global Projects
Working within the Professional Services division will involve development and delivery of services and service related products such as data migration tools, implementation support, network integration projects and technical consulting projects. You will be working closely with our Ericsson partner for many projects as well as working independently on assignments for our other customers.
Requirements:
- Honours Graduate with 1st or 2.1 in IT, Engineering or Computer Science
- 2-5 years experience
- Experience with UNIX, ideally SUN Solaris
- Good scripting ability and good experience of SQL
- Relational database and/or data design, preferably Sybase
- Ability to analyse and solve problems independently
- Desire to learn and assimilate technical expertise
- Understanding of controlled testing and the value of stable testing environment
- Ability to communicate in clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
- Customer facing experience and ability to represent the company in a professional manner
- Solving problems over the phone
- Person will be required to go on call and visit customers on site
- Applicants must be willing to travel globally as part of their career
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring a site
- Analyzing data from the site
- Creating stored procedures & shell scripts to speed the monitoring process up
- Fixing & solving problems
- Running TRs ( trouble reports) to take out bugs in the product
- Dealing with performance issues
- Allocated work completed in time, budget and quality standards
- A high level of technical, commercial and professional competence
- Clear, well documented work which can easily be handed over to others
- Work and report within a team environment
- When working on site or on call you are required to fix problems & answer questions to make sure things run smoothly
- Ideally the most suitable candidate will have a number of the requirements listed. Ideally someone with 2-3 years experience, an individual who can hit the ground running.
