The ideal candidate will have proven experience of client/server software development in UNIX and Windows environments.
Server side development will require strong UNIX skills. The ability to identify and introduce industry standard practices and software into our products will be required. The candidate will be required to interface and pass design knowledge to test and support groups working within the organisation. Interfacing with our clients and operators worldwide will be required where the candidate will be able to demonstrate an knowledge of Telcotec products and respond to any queries concerning same.
The person will report to the technical architect/team lead on the project. The successful candidates will deliver and report on development projects. The deliverables are defined in the project schedule and include design documents, programs, test scripts and other deliverables as defined by the team lead.

Qualifications and Experience:

UNIX
- Networks
- System administration

- Source code administration Systems

- C programming
- Java programming
- UNIX shell script programming
User Interfaces
- Graphical user interface design and implementation.
Protocols
- HTTP
- RPC

- ASN.1
Communications
- TCP/IP
- Shared memory and semaphores
- Sockets networking
Database
- Experience in Sybase ASE-12, ASE-15 desired
- Specification, design and implementation of very large scale database systems
- Database table design
- SQL
- Embedded SQL.
- Stored procedure development
Data Migration
- Design and implement large scale data migration solutions to and from other administration systems
General
- Troubleshooting
- Optimization
- Debugging
- Use of industry standard tools to assist in the above
- Educated to Degree Level or higher in a engineering, science or computing discipline
